User Guide: Spam Inbox and Unknown Numbers

The Spam Inbox (available on iOS and Android) is designed to protect you from unwanted calls and messages. When enabled, all incoming communications from unknown numbers will be automatically filtered and marked as spam. You can then review and manually validate them if needed.

1. How to Enable the Spam Inbox:

For the filter to work, the app will ask you to allow access to your synced contacts. You can enable it in two ways:

Option A: During Installation:
    1.    On the feature’s home screen, tap Set Up Now.
    2.    Allow contact syncing when the pop-up appears.
    3.    Set your notification preferences for unknown calls.

Option B: From Your Settings:
If you didn’t enable the option during installation, you can do so anytime:
    1.    Go to Settings > Security and Password.
    2.    Tap Spam Inbox.
    3.    Toggle the switch to On.

2. Manage Your Filtering Preferences:

Once the Spam Inbox is enabled, you can customize what gets filtered:

  • Notifications: Choose whether you want to be notified when an item is filtered into the spam inbox (enabled by default).

  • Filtered Categories: You can enable or disable filtering for unknown numbers (not in your contacts), hidden numbers, or SMS containing verification codes (OTPs).

Important: When you activate the feature, if your contacts are not synced, the app will automatically guide you to your Settings page to grant this access.ss-3.png

This permission is necessary so the app can distinguish your contacts from unknown numbers.

3. Navigating the Unknown Inbox
Once the feature is active, a new "Unknown" tab will appear at the top of your Calls, Messages, and Voicemail tabs. ss-4.png

By clicking on this tab, you can view details of unknown numbers. For each number, you can validate any type of history (Call, Messages, Voicemail) to move it to the main inbox.

4. Validate, Move, Block, and Categorize Numbers
If a legitimate number ends up in the Unknown inbox, you can move it to your main inbox in two ways:

  • Manual Validation: Open the message or profile of the quarantined number. Tap the checkmark icon (✓), then confirm. The number (and all future messages) will be transferred to your main inbox.
  • Direct Response: If you reply to the message or call back the number, the system will recognize it is not spam and automatically move the conversation back to your main inbox.

Note: You can also validate or invalidate a number directly from the number details page.

  • You can manually block the number by tapping the block icon. ss-8.png

  • You can categorize the contact according to your preferences. It can be marked as short code, commercial, or scam. ss-9.png

5. Important Notes

  • Not Retroactive: The filter only works for new incoming communications after activation. Existing history will not be moved automatically.

  • Deactivation: If you turn off the Spam Inbox, all histories currently in the "Unknown" section will be merged chronologically into your main inbox.

  • Safety First: If you mark a number as Spam, it will be immediately moved to the filtered section, and its future notifications will be silenced.
